Nuclear Plant Engineering SMEs

Required Education:  
Technical degrees required. Advanced degrees and quality inspection certifications are highly desired.

Required Experience/Skills:
Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in developing and evaluating design and operation of nuclear systems, structures, and components for operating commercial nuclear power plants. Experience in design bases maintenance, design audit activities, and reconstitution/compliance evaluation is a plus. Individuals must have contemporary knowledge of NRC regulatory requirements and guidance, industry codes and standards, and nuclear plant programs and procedures.  Individuals must also be able to communicate professionally with all levels of plant management and government personnel; and be able to write technical reports.

Positions are for project work, for a seven week period, with 3 or 4 weeks of travel.  Individuals have the ability to telecommute and be home every weekend.  The number of projects assigned per year is based upon the individual's personal preferences and job performance.

3 or 4 weeks of travel to various commercial reactor plant sites to perform in-depth evaluations of design, modification, operations, maintenance, and testing. Competitive compensation and government per diem for travel.  These positions do not require relocation.
